External data refresh not updating formulas

I am querying a access database using the external data link.  I then have several additional columns to the right of the data table with some formulas in them.

 

When the data is refreshed and new rows are added the formulas in the adjoining columns are not being updated but are left blank.  I have tried the 3 different options on the connection properties window but none seem to solve this problem.  The help file indicated that the formulas should be filled when the table is expanded but that isn't happening.  Is there a setting somewhere to force the formulas to expand to include the new rows?
