Excel

All of sudden my column are numbers and not letters. So it is column 1,2,3,etc. instead of A,B,C,etc. Can anyone tell me what happened and how to change it back to letters? Thanks

You are seeing R1C1 references.  In order to turn them off do this:

 

 

  1. Click the File tab to access Backstage view.
  2. Click Options.
  3. The Excel Options dialog box will appear. Click Formulas on the left side of the dialog box.
  4. Uncheck the box next to R1C1 reference style, then click OK. Excel will now use the A1 reference style.

    Thanks! That fixed it. I must have inadvertently hit a keyboard shortcut that caused the problem. Is there a keyboard shortcut for this?
