Excel Will not allow me to record a macro outside of excel

Hi

I have been building VBA macros for over 10 years now. Sometimes I write the code and other times I use the record feature within excel.

All of a sudden when I record the macro it will only record the things done within excel it will no longer record steps that are outside of excel. eg opening a file on a network drive. It always use to.

I have not changed any settings and all settings look ok
