Excel search for files with asterisk or percentage is not working
Hi there
Can you please add on the roadmap to have a common way to search files by adding asterisk or percentage?
Don't make sense to not be possible such simple query with the standard syntax.
Thanks

You cannot do it in Excel, but you could search using Windows Explorer for files with 2025 in the name and the extension you require.

Wildcards don't work here. Simple 2025 in your case works.

In File Explorer, the asterisk (*) is used as a wildcard to represent any number of characters, but the percentage sign (%) is not a standard wildcard for file searching. Instead, the percent sign is used in other contexts, such as SQL queries.

So do you agree with me that isn't working...?

It could be beneficial to have a toggle or checkbox in the search settings that allows users to specify whether they want to treat certain characters as wildcards or as plain text.
