Excel Powerquery MacOS - Disable background refresh

On Excel for MacOS, how would I disable background refreshes? In other words, I would only want the data to be refreshed sequentially, rather than in parallel.   Thank you

I'm not a Mac user but sure PQ works the same as on Windows re. your points

    disable background refreshes

This has nothing to do with parallel (or not) refresh. I suggest you re-read what https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/guidance/power-query-background-refresh does. They talk about Power BI but this is Power Query, at least for such option

I would only want the data to be refreshed sequentially

I'm afraid to say you have almost no control on the sequence (that's not how PQ "think"/behaves) assuming you do a Refresh All - Otherwise you already know How To: refresh them one by one in your desired order

Alternatively you create a macro (VBA) where you refresh your queries in the order you want and add a button like "Refresh All in My order" on a sheet
