Excel Number duplication help

I have a excel spreadsheet ( 2008) that I need to keep one column from duplicating- the field is usually filled with numeric codes similar to this 20194567 but would all have very close numbers 20194568, 20194570 etc is there away to make sure that 20194567 is not duplicated and a error message

      Thanks but the Data Validation window is different on this version and so not sure if i can do the same steps! apparently we have 2008. any clues?

        The version of Excel in the video is 2010 as well!

        If you're working on Mac, I guess that you have Excel 2011!

        If so, please see this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjE6z83XM4A to learn the Data Validation basics.

        The steps are almost the same and the Data Validation window not much different.
