Let's say that cell A1=438, B1=-100, A2=-100, B2=438.
Then cell C1:
=A1-B1
Copy formula down to C2:
=A2-B2
Is this what you're looking for?
The difference in sign comes from the reversal of the position of A1 and B1 in your formula. Whether D_McClure2020 should use =A1-B1 or =B1-A1 depends on the result that they are after.
