excel for android spell check

I have Excel for android on my Samsung tablet. I cannot for the life of me figure out where the spell checker is! I use the app mostly for invoices and typing meeting minutes. I've looked everywhere!

Excel for Android does not have a built-in spell checker like the desktop version of Excel, so far I know. However, you can still use the built-in Android spell checker to check your text while working in Excel or other apps. Here is how to use the Android spell checker:

    1. Enable Android Spell Checker:
      • Open the Android settings on your Samsung tablet.
      • Scroll down and select "System."
      • Tap on "Languages & input."
      • Under the "Keyboards & input methods" section, select "On-screen keyboard."
    2. Choose Your Keyboard:
      • Depending on your tablet and the keyboard app you are using (e.g., Samsung Keyboard, Gboard, SwiftKey), the steps to enable spell check may vary.
      • Typically, you will find an option like "Text correction" or "Spell checker" within the keyboard settings. Enable this option.
    3. Use Spell Check in Excel:
      • Now that you have enabled the Android spell checker, you can use it in Excel or any other app.
      • While entering text in Excel, if you make a typo or a misspelling, the spell checker should underline the word in red.
      • Tap on the underlined word to see spelling suggestions and choose the correct spelling.

Please note that the exact steps and options may vary slightly based on your tablet model, Android version, and the keyboard app you are using. Additionally, software updates may introduce new features, so it is a good idea to check your tablet's settings and keyboard app for the most up-to-date options related to spell checking.

If you have a specific keyboard app installed, you can also check the app's settings for spell check options, as some third-party keyboard apps offer additional spell checking features beyond the default Android spell checker. My knowledge of this topic is limited, but since no one has answered it for at least one day or more, I entered your question in various AI. The text and the steps are the result of various AI's put together.

I am reading this about 6 months later.

Thank you for your response. I also encountered the same issue raised by EFZearley.

After an extensive search for the Spell Checker feature on the Excel Mobile app, I assumed it doesn't have the Spell checking feature as the Desktop version (same thing can be said of a few other functions).

The Spell Checker can be found under the Review Tab in the Desktop Version. But the attached image shows all that is available on the Mobile App.

I decided to check online just to be sure I wasn't missing out something. That's how I came by your response to the question.

Thank you once again, particularly for the alternative thoughts you shared.
