EXCEL automatically replaces the local path in hyperlinks by the online ones
This behavior is really disruptive. The worst is that EXCEL does the same when you link to local computer OUT of the OneDrive folder in the local C: root. and not only for files but also for FOLDERS....
As a fellow user, I can see the problems with this.
My work environment doesn't even acknolwedge we have OneDrive for Business through SharePoint !
I'm sure the behaviour is quite intentional as the link can only point to one location and the assumption being made is that the OneDrive is the best file. Also, if the file making the reference is placed in a OneDrive location and opened by another user, it will still see the correct location. This avoids bad mapping of Network shares.
The problem with MS implementation is that it assumes that OneDrive is the source and not merely the tool to share ertain files.
When working offline, do the links still work or are they failing when there is no Internet connection?
