Same issue since I updated excel roughly 2 weeks ago.
Already contacted Microsoft chat 4 times and spent several hours on with them. Thinking that was my MAC issue I completely erase it and re install MAC OS from 0, still the same issue. During the third chat last week they told me that is a well know problem and soon they’ll fix it, soon when?!? Today I contacted them again and they said don't know when it'll be fixed. So frustrating I need excel properly working, that the reason why I pay my subscription!

I've an update! I contact them 2 hours ago for the forth time to check if they solved the issue. The issue is not solved yet, but I found a smart guy who can worked around a temporary solution. He basically made me remove excel and he sent me the link to download and install the previous excel version. It worked, as of now! If you guy want you can try to contact them and ask to guide you through the process. Hope this post will help you out
