data model wont refresh in excel version 1705 build 8201.2193

We have a large data model that worked as expected in Version 1701 (Build 7766.2099).

 

Multiple users in our organization have updated to version 1705 build 8201.2193, and in all cases - individual query and connections fail and refresh all fails as well.

 

Previously refresh all's would complete in ~1hr, now after about 20m CPU drops to 0 and memory usage falls by 50% and then nothing...

 

Refreshing individual queries also just run and never complete.

 

I have not found good documentation to help identify what might be going on here - any advice would be appreciated.

      went back to old version with the following and my processing time is back to normal.

       

      C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun> OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.7766.2119
