cross platform of saved in one drive excel database between mobile and pc not working

I use a database I made through excel for finances. Just recently when I use the mobile version it doesn't allow freezing of rows or columns and when I go between pc and mobile it comes up read only even after adjusting this as advised. Cross platforming is not working and I need it as I basically use it as a financial app. I have used it this way for many years and only now am having issues. I even tried unprotecting all the sheets I had protected as I dont want to loose my formulas for solar bill calculator I created for grid usage. Any suggestions?
