Connections (to Dataverse) updated in Excel in the cloud

I don't think we wil see any results in nearest future. Yes, current ETA is may 2025

But this is in developmnt from 2022, rollout start was moved to the right many times. about a month ago or bit more we had very preliminary release published to quite small persent of users, no progress from that time.

On the one hand that's complex task. On the other hand all depends on budget and resources assigned to resolve this task.

I'm not sure this feature has some priority for Microsoft. They significantly cut jobs, invest money in Coipilot and AI in genaral, all the rest is in background if not frozen or cancelled.

Yes true, excel web have limited options in terms of external data connections.

So far i Know, it is not possible to refresh connections to Dataverse or other external data sources (via Power Query or similar) directly within Excel for the Web. This functionality is supported in the desktop version of Excel, but not in the web version at this time.

Consider Power Automate or Office Scripts for automation, but these usually require the desktop app environment.
