Conditional Formatting Icon Custom Sort

When using Office 365 online, the Formatting icon set displays empty boxes and does not allow an order to be selected when trying to perform a custom sort in Excel.  (See image).  How do I correct this issue?  It works correctly in the Desktop version of Excel, but not the online version.
