Hi all, is it possible to create a drop down list and then apply the autocomplete function to it ?

- Lee GovanCopper ContributorThanks Jamil, i have the next cell with a vlookup formula which relates to the cell i have the drop down list in. if i use the combo box instead that will confuse the vlookup formula right ?

I have recorded a video on how you could do that by yourself.
also I have attached the sample file.
- JamilBronze ContributorNo, it will not confuse if you set up the combo box right. Combo box has the option of linked cell you need to set up linked cell then use it inside he lookup.

This answer is incomplete. The Windows ActiveX box does support autocomplete but the Mac combo box does not, as far as I know. There are many posts out there by Mac users looking for such a solution. There are some workarounds but they are kludgy.
How exactly are you suggesting implementing auto-complete in the combo-box?
- JamilBronze ContributorYes, it is possIble if you use the combo box from the developer tab, instead of traditional drop down.
