allow edit range

Dear all, hello and best wishes, 

i am new user of excel online and i faced with bellow problem.

i want to allow a specfic user to edit G:K columns in protected sheet i did it like bellow: 

1. clicked on allow edit range

2. the range selected

3. click on permission

4. i specified email of a specific person

5. allow checked. 

6. apply 

7. i protected the sheet

8. the sheet was shared edit allowed

now, that person (to whom i allowed to edit that specific range) can not edit that range. 

what is the problem here?
