Verticle tabs are gone

Been gone for weeks maybe a month. Still articles all over the internet advertising irrelevant flags that no longer do anything with no update on the fact that it is broken and no longer working unless you happened to have implemented it previously and left it on. Very irritating the lack of changelog information available to a testing community I mean this is a little silly as someone who's used to open source levels of community involvement. Disappointed all around here other than the fact they've kept system resource usage in check than any other browser I've benchmarked.

  • Merc410 Thank you for taking the time to share that feedback, and we're sorry to hear that you're feeling frustrated.

Vertical tabs, like most of our features, is part of an iterative rollout process. (You can read more about it here.) Thus, we generally don't announce them until they're truly available to everyone within a specific preview channel; we don't want users such as yourself to expect it, then be disappointed if the team pulls it back for more testing. But please rest assured that once it's ready for our Insiders to try out fully, we will have an announcement about vertical tabs!

Our team does spend a significant amount of time curating and posting the changelog for each week's new Dev channel release. If you have specific feedback about what you'd like to see there, please let us know!

      Hello Deleted

It would be a really cool thing to have all the features controlled in the canary version, as this is the main purpose of this channel
We know that the canary contains instabilities and we are aware of that
We just want to test the feature, even though it’s still broken

It's okay for the features to be controlled in the dev version, but I still don't see the reason why the controlled features exist in the canary version

      If you can inform us
Why do controlled resources exist in the canary version?

to help them quickly identify issues that may impact performance and reliability and also prevent them from impacting everyone in the same channel at the same time.

Deleted I switched to Edge months ago, specifically to get this feature. I'm on the Canary build and every time there's an update, I hope and pray that vertical tabs will be included, but so far, nothing. I did get a vertical tabs switch in Appearance settings a few updates ago, but activating it did nothing and then it was gone in the next update.

I think I speak for many users when I say please stop teasing us and enable vertical tabs, at least in the Canary builds! The whole point of Canary is you're supposed to get the latest features, with the understanding that some things may be broken. Everyone who's used the feature talks about how great it is, so it's driving me crazy that I can't use it. If you don't want to enable it by default, at least provide a flag to enable it.

UpVote ... I agree 100%. I look at it like the windows insider rings. Fast ring got everything new to test. Slow ring got what was tested and fixed from fast ring. Canary is the Edge Fasst ring, while Dev is the edge slow ring.....
