Hello MissyQ
I want ask something.
When Microsoft want fix the installation path on Windows?
Because, you know when install Edge whatever Dev, Beta, or Stable, the program file location still on "Program Files (x86)," not on "Program Files."
I hope you're hear my feedback.
Thank you.
- dftf-wipFeb 26, 2021Iron ContributorThe 64-bit Edge going into the 32-bit "Program Files (x86)" is a long-standing issue Microsoft inherited from the Chromium project.
Though it has recently been addressed, and if you do a fresh install of 64-bit Google Chrome now it does indeed go into the correct-folder. I think either Brave or Vivaldi have also recently fixed it.
For Edge, I see no-reason why Microsoft cannot also update the full .MSI installer for the 64-bit to now go to the correct path, though for the 20H2 preinstalled Edge they will have to ask the Windows team to address this, which will likely have to wait until at-least 21H2, as 21H1 is planned at being only a minor update.- DeletedFeb 27, 2021Witam

an Edge developer told us the reason the other day:
"this was something we inherited from Chromium. They finally fixed it in Chrome last year (https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=380177), but we're waiting to integrate that change since we're still actively working on how Edge is installed in other ways, for example how Edge gets onto brand new installs of Windows.
