sync error: SYNC_AUTH_ERROR
sometimes edge://sync-internals/ shows errors like these, how to fix it:
Auth Error Connection failed (-2). since 2021-12-14 11:44:06 +08
Server Connection server error since 2021-12-14 11:44:06 +08
GetKey Step Result SYNC_AUTH_ERROR (HTTP 401)

- TobiasATSteel ContributorHave the same issue in Edge 98.0.1108.43 (Official build) (64-bit). Just the state "Setting up sync" and in the log SYNC_AUTH_ERROR (HTTP 401).
- WillChamberlainCopper ContributorI was getting a 403 error. In my case, it was a corporate proxy blocking the client certificate request for the sync server. I was able to determine this by attempting to manually visit the Server URL listed on edge://sync-internals/ . Adding an exception in our proxy allowed me to reset my sync successfully.
- TobiasATSteel ContributorI was able to solve my issue. I deleted all files in the Sync Data folder of the Edge profile: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\<Edge Profile>\Sync Data

Hey there haoxiaoyan! Several things could be leading to that particular auth error, and some more information would help here. What Edge version and OS and version are you running? Does sync work for a while and then show this error? Is something specific not syncing, or everything? Does logging out and back in allow sync to continue normally?
If you could provide a screenshot of your edge://sync-internals/ page but block out the Identity section, that would be very helpful digging in here.

Thanks for posting that info. Could you please try signing out of Microsoft Edge and then signing back in? It looks like there may have been an issue with getting your MSA key.
