New Tab Search UI (Ctrl + Shift + A) has changed - how to revert to previous behavior?
Since the latest Microsoft Edge update, the Tab Search panel opened with Ctrl + Shift + A has changed.
It now opens on the side instead of in the center, and arrow key navigation no longer works. Only Tab navigation works now. This makes it much harder to use quickly.
Is there any way to restore the previous centered Tab Search UI, or re-enable up and down arrow navigation, or undo this specific UI change?
The old version worked perfectly for my workflow. The new version slows everything down.

I may have found the solution.
Open edge://flags, then search for the Tab Search Button flag, select disabled from the dropdown menu. Then restart. Ctrl + Shift + A should return to its previous appearance and behaviour before the update.

After the latest update, I cannot see the Tab Search Button flag on edge://flags.
I really cannot understand why they revoke such a great, useful shortcut and make it impossible to bring it back again. I guess I will stop using Edge only because of this. Meanwhile, I'd appreciate it if someone figured out how we can bring it back and share here.I may have found the solution.

this worked, but it looks like the Tab Search Button flag has been removed in recent Edge versions, so it’s no longer available in edge://flags.
Do you know if there’s any way to bring it back (maybe via a hidden setting policy or older flag) or any alternative to get the tab search behaving like before ?
Appreciate any updates if you’ve found a workaround.
I can't seem to find this flag in my Edge!
As in April 2026, this flag is gone in Edge. The suggested solution worked fine in the previous version of Edge, but not any longer... Unless that flag has changed its name or it's better hidden.

I'm trying to get used to Cmd-L, [search-text], Shift-Tab, Shift-Tab, Enter intead...
