The only thing that concerns me is that for security reasons it does not encrypted the website address and leaves them for anyone that is snooping to see.....

But then again, does it really matter....

Website addresses don't need to be encrypted, they are publicly known to everyone.
they are not passwords to be secret

Can you please help me understand the difference between the two screenshots?

Do both features accomplish the same? For example, on the second screenshot, what's the effect of adding websites under Allow (e.g., [*.]microsfot.com)? If I select "delete all cookies" will the Allow cookies remain and not be deleted?

I don't understand the difference between the new feature (first screenshot) and the second (old feature). Thanks!!

        Hello,

        they are actually the same,

when you add a site to be excluded from cookies deletion on close in this page:

        edge://settings/clearBrowsingDataOnClose

you will see the same site being listed in here: edge://settings/content/cookies

Meaning I did not find this post of yours before I posted mine. Otherwise I would not have posted mine if I had seen your post on this subject....

HotCakeX I have just tried. But when I add a URL, close an re-open the browser, it is not saved:

Have I missed anything or is it also related to the "Site permissions" that are also cleared on exit?

HotCakeX   Even though I have the Auto Login box checked, every time I go to Webmail,  instead of automatically logging me in, a message saying an “unhandled error has occurred …” appears.  This started after a recent Windows update.  Auto Login works fine with Firefox & Chrome.   At Cookies and other site data I have entered the URL & turned on the switch.  That didn’t fix anything. In fact another site whose Auto Login was not affected by the Windows update, started requiring it after I had added the webmail URL.  I went back & added the newly affected site under Cookies and other site data, now the auto login works for it, but still not the webmail.
Site permissions & all of the other switches in the column are turned off. I read the thread at:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/new-feature-in-edge-provide-option-to-keep-specific-cookies-when/m-p/1265153  but am still not able to fix the problem, help.  Thanks

HotCakeX MS Edge Version 113.0.1774.57 does not have this option. You can either keep or remove all cookies when MS Edge closes.
