Hello!
The EDGE browser is since last patch and last Windows patches extremely slow in input, page load times and also extremely laggy in navigation.
When is the next Edge patch coming?
Can I also turn off the Bing AI?
I suspect that the new AI in the background consumes too many resources on older PCs.
Before everything went mega fast in the browser.
I have tested it on 2 different PCs on Windows 10 64 bit.
Does anyone else have the same problems?
The browser feels 80% slower than a week ago!
Why?
I have turned off all addons.
- rafitamolinCopper ContributorPOTENTIAL FIX: Disabling Omen Gaming Hub in task manager makes the Edge smooth again.
If you don't need that software, uninstalling it is also an option.- MrBasedCopper ContributorThis fixed things for me. Omen Gaming Hub was the cause of the problem.
- whexyCopper ContributorWow, that fixed the issue right away! Thank you so much for sparing me the trouble of having to install and uninstall Edge multiple times in two days. I guess the blame lies with HP.
- hitaarthCopper ContributorGood lord have sex with me bro. This fixed edge right away thanks a lot!!!

The same is happening to me since yesterday/today. Not sure if it is has something to do with memory but in my case Edge is using ~800MB of RAM with a single tab open.

To help us diagnose the browser lag issue you're experiencing with MS Edge, could you please use the feedback portal to submit your diagnostic data? You can access it by clicking on the ellipsis (...) in the top right corner, then selecting Help and feedback > Send feedback. In the description field, please copy and paste "Browser lag V.111.0.1661.54" so that I can quickly locate your feedback and forward it to our engineers. Additionally, could you let me know if you're experiencing the same behavior in a New InPrivate window? Thanks for your help!
- BaumkuchenlandCopper Contributori have send it, thanks 4 support1
- burgtecwillCopper ContributorI have also seen on reddit people are claiming it is related to HP devices. I am not on a HP device and I am having the same issue. (I've seen mentioned omen gaming hub in these replies)

Baumkuchenland Really laggy. I came across this thread trying to find out why Edge just started dogging today ... it's actually unusable right now and I'll be in Chrome until Edge can perform.
I'm getting about 850 Mbps up and down with 3 ms latency. I have an i7, 64 GB RAM, 2TB SSD and a 3080 card. Everything else, including the exact same pages in Chrome, is popping.
- Basic_GearsCopper ContributorIt's been infuriating, to say the least.
Even on my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro Gen 6 (R7 5800H, 64GB RAM, new Solidigm P44 Pro SSD) running the latest Windows 11 version, everything on Edge has been grinding to a halt. I can't even drag the window without it completely freezing up.
Everything else runs perfectly fine. Chrome, MS Word, Steam, and the games I play all are working fine. So it's not a hardware/temperature issue (after monitoring with HWInfo64 and doing stress tests). All my drivers are up to date.
One fix that worked temporarily was disabling Edge Shopping and restarting the browser. It worked for a day and now the issue is back (as of 11 am EST).
Small update around 12:30 pm EST: it's working smoothly a little bit now? But I'm not holding my breath, not when all my schoolwork tabs are in Edge. - juminixCopper Contributor

Hi, try disabling Bing search suggestions and see if this improves performance. To do this, open Edge, click on the three dots in the upper right corner, select "Settings" > "Privacy, search, and services", and turn off the "Show search suggestions as I type" option. I tried it and it worked for me.- BaumkuchenlandCopper Contributorthe most of my problems with edge browser was fixed with this informations
THANKS!
But i have a little bit site loading delay on some websites.

Baumkuchenland closing the hp omen gaming hub process worked for me.

Baumkuchenland I'm adding this as I just responded on answers.microsoft.com.
I will be adding this "in quotes" to the feedback hub again as well.
"This issue was NOT resolved by removing the Omen gaming hub. I have an HP Envy gaming PC, and this was recommended on the Reddit forum. I removed the gaming hub...no difference. Reinstalled windows...no difference. Installed Edge DEV to see if that worked better...no difference. Yesterday both were updated, and I was hoping to see this fixed. Again, no difference! I also saw some Reddit advice to turn off efficiency mode. That did not work either. There doesn't seem to be a solution here that works for me, however a lot of people are reporting that one or both of these suggestions listed above have helped them. I guess your mileage may vary. For me, I'm going to switch to regular chrome for now until MS fixes this. It affects EVERY aspect of browsing and it's going on 10 days. Yes, I did report this in the feedback forum and still there is no solution. Very frustrating!"
