Introducing Buy now, pay later in Microsoft Edge
“Buy now, pay later,” or BNPL, lets shoppers break their purchases into equal installment payments, often interest-free, which can allow shoppers to get their purchase upfront, instead of having to wait until it’s paid in full.
Usually, BNPL is offered in specific ecommerce websites like Target, Walmart. But now, Microsoft partners with 3rd party Zip (previously Quadpay) to offer a BNPL payment option at browser level. It means any purchase between $35 - $1,000 you make through Microsoft Edge can be split into 4 installments over 6 weeks.
On top of coverage, we also aim to 1) meet you where you are. 2) simplify the application process.
Meet you where you are:
When you are in checkout page, you can find BNPL option right when you enter credit card number
For some shoppers, you can also find BNPL option right when you enter checkout page.
Simplify application process:
Applying BNPL could take time, you need to sign in with zip every single time. With BNPL in Edge, you can simply link your Microsoft account with your zip account with one click and then bypass sign in from Zip side. It can expedite the application process for you.
BNPL is currently available in Microsoft Edge Canary and Dev channels and will be available by default to all users in Microsoft Edge release 96. If you experience any issue while using this feature, please let us know through Microsoft Edge by pressing Shift+Alt+I on a Windows device or going to Settings and more … > Help and feedback > Send feedback.
You can read more on the FAQ support article. Please also join us here on the Microsoft Edge Insider forums or Twitter to discuss your experience or send us your feedback through the browser! We hope you enjoy this exciting new feature and look forward to hearing from you!

- AnonymousAfter thinking about it, this may be a great feature for those who actually need as not everyone can afford everything. Zip may integrate this into Chrome too you never know and this is a good feature and it's only in the US. It's a optional thing and you can just ignore it.
- jaredkellyCopper ContributorThis is predatory bloat. Stop it.
- AmeliaSZKCopper ContributorThis is a shameful feature, and should be removed immediately.
- BShipeIron ContributorThis is absolutely disgusting. As a strong proponent for Edge both at work and with friends, I feel awful continuing to push for Edge adoption and enablement knowing that the product group is carelessly implementing features that are known to be predatory. I implore you to reconsider adding this feature.
- AnonymousThese can be removed with group polices and some families may actually need this Christmas, it's been a hard year for some and some of you take this for granted.

This is predatory garbage, I'm very disappointed Microsoft has added this to Edge. Do better Microsoft.
- LFrigoDeSouzaCopper ContributorWhat a shame! Edge was surprisingly a good browser, but it's things like this that have made me switch back do FireFox.
- anderskCopper ContributorThis is the worst idea of 2021. You need to put this feature to the grave before it goes GA. #facepalm

I previously mentioned my disappointment in the direction Microsoft were taking Chromium Edge before (see the original link below), however you chose to ignore the comments and decided to keep adding this type of nonsense regardless. Needless to say, other people are now starting to notice as well.
People aren't going to tolerate this.
- AnonymousThey did redesign the new share option in Edge 96
- iAssistSCCopper ContributorWhile I understand the financial benefits for Microsoft; the damage that these companies do to peoples financial situation is not insignificant. By putting this into the browser you are assisting the the continued financial oppression of those that generally need more help.
- mikehudgellCopper ContributorI think this is likely to come very close to issues with the asa in the UK as it doesn't have the right disclaimers etc
