Copilot Studio agents problems connecting to Sharepoint knowledge source

I've been hitting this issue with one user in one security group, the other users (within the same security group) don't face the issue in the Teams channel. The agent in Copilot Studio Test Pane works perfectly (but using a service account).
I checked the Copilot Studio agent corresponding PowerApps conversationTranscript table. There I see an exception "DataverseKnowledgeSearchException" stating that the user access to Dataverse Knowledge Search is forbidden.
I checked and the user (having the issue) is allowed to access the Sharepoint knowledge documents.
I don't know how to fix this and would appreciate any directions, please.
