Copilot Studio + SharePoint: Markdown (.md) Files in Doc Libraries Supported as Knowledge Sources?

I've just hit this same limitation.
We have an agent built in Agent Builder which works fine with a document library with thousands of markdown files containing our KB which all appear to be fully indexed and provide rich results in the Agent Builder environment (or general Copilot queries by a licensed user).
When adding that same document library to a Copilot Studio agent it cannot see any of the markdown files. It appears it can retrieve and query CSV, PDF, Docx, HTML etc, but not .md markdown files.
With Microsoft adding more native markdown support to SharePoint and OneDrive, surely this is an oversight?
