Cname for SQL Listener
Quick one hopefully - does anyone know whether Config Manager supports a CName Alias pointing to the Always On Listener name when using an Availability Group for the Site Database? Thinking to add a layer of abstraction to simplify upgrades in future.
Thanks!

Config Manager supports using a CNAME alias pointing to the Always On Listener for the Site Database, as long as the alias resolves correctly and SQL client connectivity is not impacted.

Keep in mind that ConfigMgr will install services on each node of the cluster and therefore will need to know about each one. However ConfigMgr will use the SQL alias name to connect to the db.

So you mean there's no benefit since SCCM would need a site recovery to change the database cluster even if it used the same CNAME... To reinstall those services? Makes sense.

Yes but no. You can do a site reset to move the SQL cluster location. It only take a "few" minutes to do. So...
