Embedded Excel sheet in Word Doc not showing all rows

I have a Word Doc with an embedded Excel sheet. After I add rows to the sheet, the Word Doc cuts off the new rows. I tried stretching it in the Word Doc, but that doesn't work, the Excel sheet just gets stretched. I've changed the print area and cleared the print area in the Excel file. I unhid all the rows as well. I've searched Google and here and I couldn't find an answer. Is the Word Doc or Excel sheet I'm working on corrupted? I've attached some screenshots.

  • hi Dolphins84  This usually is not corruption, it’s more often because the embedded Excel object in Word keeps a fixed visible range/snapshot size.

When you add new rows in the embedded sheet, Word does not automatically expand the displayed area to include them.

    A few things to try:

    • Double-click the embedded Excel object to open/edit it
    • While in edit mode, try dragging the lower resize handle from inside the Excel object area (not just stretching the outer object in Word)
    • Save and click outside the object to refresh it

    If that does not work:

    • Copy the updated Excel range again
    • In Word, delete the old embedded object
    • Re-embed/paste the updated range

Also check whether the object was inserted as:

    an embedded workbook,

    a pasted range,

    or a linked object

because pasted ranges are more likely to “freeze” the visible area.

So this is usually more of a limitation of embedded Excel rendering in Word rather than actual file corruption.
