Copilot image generation now shows "Made with AI"
At some point in the last few weeks, image generation with Copilot in Edge was changed to include a little oval with the text "Made with AI". This is very annoying. The oval is usually within the rectangle of the image content (cannot be cropped out) and often on a gradient color area (not a solid color that can be erased). I don't mind using disclaimers that my images were AI-generated, but I don't want the image itself to be plastered with extra content. Copilot says this cannot be eliminated. Copilot "says" that it can move the oval above or below the content, but it either does not properly do that, or it puts the whole image inside a solid background. This oval makes the images practically unusable in documents due to the need to hack out the oval. Copilot says this is for "transparency", but the transparency of my work is not Microsoft's problem.

considering the amount of backlash against AI, I think this is a rare smart choice from Microsoft. They're a big company, and not every human can be trusted to act with integrity. That's why we have regulations and stuff. Since the regulations are behind on this, Microsoft is getting ahead of it.
Why is it so important to you that people don't know it's made with AI?Do you disclose how many times a spell checker fixed a typo or misspelled word? Should your editor disclose it whether you like it or not? If you mistype a word and your editor fixes it, is the result really your work, or are you cheating without telling us? I am accountable for this post in this context; my editor should not force an AI disclosure.
