Customising 'Select a label' tooltip in Outlook

Hi,

Is it possible to edit the default tooltip that appears when a user hovers over the 'Select a label' button in the top right of Outlook. We have mandatory labelling enabled and this tooltip currently states "Select a label - You organisation requires you to label this email before sending". Not only do we want to rephrase this with our organisation's language, but it the default is grammatically incorrect.

I know that I can change the tooltip that shows when you hover over a specific label, but not sure if it is possible when there is no label.

Thanks,

Brendan

    Hi SumanthSomireddy

Thank you for the reply. That's disappointing it is unable to be changed.

I'm assuming the Policy Tip you are referring to is the tooltip that is unique to each sensitivity label, defined in the Microsoft Information Protection Client upon creation of the label. Just checking there is nowhere else we can make adjustments.

    Thanks,
    Brendan

Unfortunately, you cannot modify the default tooltip text that appears when you hover over it. It is because, the text is hardcoded in Microsoft Information Protection Client which is a part of product UI and is not possible to be configured by the admin. However, I would recommend you configure Policy tip which are messages that appear inline when a label is auto applied or required. This can be configured in your own wording and proper justification.
