Cannot view or edit some Retention Policies
Last week (May 2025) we noticed that we are unable to view or edit some of our retention policies in the Data Lifecycle Management solution in Purview. We select a retention policy, click Edit, and then get the following pop-up:
After clicking Close we're back to the list of Retention policies. There are a number of policies that are doing this and they do not involve Copilot. The one in particular that I'm trying to view is a policy that sets a retention on Teams channel posts.
I've resorted to trying to use PowerShell to view the settings of these retention policies, but PowerShell doesn't give me the details I'm looking for. Plus it takes a lot longer for me to use PowerShell since I'm trying to figure out the correct scripts.
Does anyone know anything about this? Is it a glitch? Is it by design? (that seems crazy...we can't even view the settings of retention policies we've had in place for years?)

Same issue, this is incredibly annoying, how could they not test this popup?

Microsoft
Previously, "Copilot Interactions" and "Teams Chats" were governed by a single policy. Now, they have separate policies.
This roadmap item is currently in Preview (May 2025) and is scheduled for rollout in June 2025. For more details, please visit the Microsoft 365 Roadmap page.

Hey Brian,
The problem is, it blocks you from editing or viewing your existing policy. So you can't see what you previously had to configure a new policy. It would be nice if you could edit your existing policy to eject Copilot out of it and make it a pure Teams policy.
I am getting the same thing.
