Ever since group based licensing was moved from Entra to 365 admin, it's no longer possible to apply licenses to to 365 groups. This is clearly broken and needs fixing. What's the process to raise th...

Hi drkmccy ,
To assign licenses to groups in Microsoft 365, you can follow these steps, as it’s possible directly through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center:
- Go to the https://admin.microsoft.com 365 Admin Center.
- Navigate to Billing > Licenses.
- Select the license you want to assign, such as Microsoft 365 E5 Developer.
- In the license details page, go to the Groups tab.
- Click Assign licenses.
- In the panel that opens, enter the group name you want to assign the license to (you can assign to multiple groups if needed).
- Select the group from the search results and confirm.
This will apply the license to all members of the selected group. I hope this answers your question and resolves the licensing issue without needing Entra or other tools.
Let me know if this works!

You've missed the point with this reply. The issue is not that we cannot assign licenses to any group, it's that we cannot assign licenses to "Microsoft 365" or "Teams" groups. This IS a huge issue as it requires us to create a whole new set of groups just for licensing.
