George_Hepworth Because some people need to open a very old Access MDB. I'm currently looking for a way to open one from Access 97. None of the runtimes since 2013 are capable of converting it.

Thanks for clarifying that, although you are using Access 2021, you also have to open old Access 97 mdbs.
If you have the Access 2007 runtime and want to distribute that, you should be fine. Unfortunately, I don't know where you could find it today, but a search on the internet might well turn one up.
