Record being displayed in datasheet part of split form. How to turn it off

I have created a split form and inserted a subform. The records in the datasheet part have a[+] next to the record, when I click on the [+] the subform is displayed within the datasheet section.

Have i set the split sheet up incorrectly? Can i get rid of the [+]?

Any help would be much appreciated.
