How can I zoom in and zoom out in Design View?

Help

  • Hi,

Apart from the already mentioned zoom box for properties, there is no built-in possibility to zoom in design views of Access.

The Access team at Microsoft is currently working on the adaption to modern resolutions and one of the planned features is zooming in design views. However, this will be one of the later phases of the adaption work and it may last some months until we'll see it. You can have a look at this part in my latest Access News video in which the leading engineer discusses these works.

In Microsoft Access, when you’re working in Design View (for a form or report), you can zoom in and out in a couple of ways, depending on what you want to enlarge—text, controls, or the overall design.

If you’re trying to read small text in a property box, use Shift+F2 for a pop-up zoom editor.

Table/Query Design View doesn’t have a zoom slider—only Form/Report Design does. For tables/queries, adjust column widths manually or use Window controls (like resizing the window).

Tip: If nothing above works, check your Access version (steps vary slightly for 2016, 2019, 365, etc.). The status bar zoom slider is the quickest method for forms/reports.
