Hi Megan,
I'd like to revisit this old thread to give you a compliment! Back then (in early August), I passed on your question as a request to Microsoft. The option was added, only at the database level, but still. It has made life easier for many Access users/developers for whom the editor still has too many problems and who can deactivate it.
Some people like the new editor even in its current state (there will soon come many bugfixes) but for other people this option is the most important (non-)feature of the new editor so far. 😎
