Edge Browser control - Can't load the add-in

Good afternoon,

I use the Edge Browser control to display charts/graphs from an html file on an MS Access form. This works fine on all computers except one. Normally the charts automatically load with no problems. On this computer, the Edge Browser control states: "Sorry, we can't load the add-in. Please make sure you have network and/or internet connectivity. Click 'Retry' once you're back online."

My network connectivity is fine. It does the same regardless of firewall being on/off. I'm at a loss as to what to check. Hoping someone out there has some answers.

TIA,

Russ

  • There have been a few regressions with the Edge browser control recently but this is new, at least to me

Please state which Access version / build / bitness / update channel you are using as that may be important
    e.g. 365 Version 2312 Build 16.0.17126.20190 64-bit Monthly Enterprise Channel

Also which add-in is it referring to? Is it installed & loaded on that machine? Check whether you have a missing reference

isladogs it doesn't refer to any add-in. This is a computer on a boat. It's installed on the computer. It's an edge browser control and there are no missing references. I don't currently have access to the build version but it is 365.

OK I'm baffled! I'm wondering if its just reporting (in a strange way!) that the user hasn't been online for at least 30 days. If so, 365 will revert to trial mode after a while and severely limit the features available.

Unfortunately, the most important information we need in order to try and assist, is the monthly YYNN version number followed by the build number, update channel and bitness.

When you are able to do so, please ask those on the boat to provide that info and report back. Also ask them to go online whilst logged into Access if and when that is possible.
