Coping Access tables

Perhaps a screenshot will be useful. See the little arrow to the left of the table icon? That tells us "Linked Table". I.e. all we have is a link that tells Access where to find the real table.
And, when you hover the cursor over the table in the Navigation Pane (or in the database container in Access 2003 and earlier), Access shows you the actual location of that mdb containing the real table.- Phil_TremperSep 02, 2021Copper ContributorI have used that. Again the problem occurred when I made a copy of the table: SARATOGA. Pasted it to the table, rename the pasted copy of SARATOGA to SARATOGA_2010 and then opened SARATOGA_2010 and deleted all but data in 2010. When I went back to SARATOGA which was never specifically opened, All the data was missing in SARATOGA.

To be sure we're on the same page. You opened "Horses_be.mdb" in the vs2019 folder. Correct?
You copied and pasted the table called SARATOGO in THAT mdb. Correct?
You then deleted records from the copy called "SARATOGO_2010". Correct?
And all of this was NOT done in the copy of the mdb you sent to me. You did all of this in that other mdb, the one called "Horses_be.mdb" shown as the linked mdb in my screenshot?

Phil_Tremper Thank you. I just downloaded the mdb. I'll review it and come back with any suggestions. It'll be a little while, but sometime today.
