Access Not Responding
I have an Access database (32 Bit) with a SQL Express backend that has been constantly Not Responding ever since Jan. 9th. There have been no programming updates to the database for a week, so it is not a programming change. Have there been any reports of Access not responding all of a sudden on a database that was working fine prior to the Windows updates installed on January 9th, 2024?

MikeB33511 This was a result of a bug introduced with an update, Microsoft has responded with a fix and depending on your version of Offices you should either already be seeing this fixed or see the fix later today.

We need more detail to be sure.
However, there is an issue with malformed ODBC strings from about this same time. Check the article here at AccessForever.

Access has been problematic for around a year, but in the last week, stops responding altogether.

Unfortunately, it's very hard to guess what the problem in this particular situation could be, based only on knowing that Access stops responding. In order to help us help you, provide a step-by-step description of what you have to do to produce the error.
Include information about the version of Access and about the version of SQL Server involved.
The more detail you provide, the better the chances are that someone will recognize potential problems in your environment and procedures.
