Access doesn't close properly. A remaining background process can only be terminated in task manager
- Feb 08, 2022Yes, here also the update available (Europe). Tested en fix the problem. Trusted Location not necessary any more. But I highly recommend it. Otherwise you will have problem starting from April. MS is blocking marcos. Problem is back in the latest few updates. Just updated to
Microsoft® Access® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2510 Build 16.0.19328.20106) 32-bit
and even just opening and closing Access, without opening a database, and closing Access, leaves it running in background processes.

I have been having the same problem and managed to fix it. I'm on win11 and updated to the latest update, same for office 365 (64bit). Didn't make a difference. I then followed the clear instructions in this link

to do a clean boot by disabling processes. I tried to reinstate a few at a time to find a potential culprit but with no success. So I ended up reinstating all of them and hey presto - the problem is solved.
