Access 2608 Build 20326: Line controls disappear in Print Preview

I ran into the very same problem this evening.  I place a subtotal line on my report and it does not appear in print preview.  In this particular report I use a vba function to place the subtotal line a certain number of pixels from the top margin and a certain number of pixels from the left margin, for a specific length.  When I actually print to create a pdf, the subtotal line appears on the report but it's not in the location I have placed it. Instead it looks as if it's displayed in the same location it occupies when in design view.  And I believe I'm using version 2608 (not sure of the build).  I do have another laptop with MS Access's earlier version (2607).  I copied the database over to that laptop and ran the same report.  It worked fine there.
