Windows 11 Entra ID

I recently set up a new Windows 11 machine using a Microsoft 365 Business subscription linked to my domain-based work email (Entra ID).

However, I'm facing recurring issues where legacy Microsoft services (like Microsoft Store, Skype, and OneDrive) attempt to default to my old personal Microsoft Live account, creating conflicts during app installations and updates.

For example, I get errors like “You can’t install this on a work account” or failed sync attempts when using Microsoft Store. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of personal vs. work account conflict on a new Windows setup?

What's the cleanest way to isolate or remove the personal Microsoft account influence from the OS without losing access to essential services?

Instead of having your personal account linked to the device, create a local user account for personal use. Keep your work account for work purposes only.
