No sound from the microphone on a Windows computer

After updating the system, I found that the microphone was not working. When I started testing it, it showed 0. Yesterday, I found that the speaker was not working. After searching online, I turned off the audio enhancement and the speaker started working. Today, I tried using the microphone, but there was no sound. How should I solve this problem?

Ensure your microphone is plugged into the correct port (usually pink or with a microphone icon). If it's a USB microphone, try a different USB port.

In addition, Windows might be sending sound to the wrong device.

    1. Right-click the speaker icon in your taskbar and select Sounds.
    2. Go to the Recording tab.
    3. You should see your microphone listed. Speak into it—the green bars next to it should move. If they don't, it's not detecting any input.

If you see multiple devices, right-click on the correct one (e.g., "Microphone Array," "External Mic," etc.) and select Set as Default Device.

    Windows has a built-in troubleshooter:

Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot → Additional troubleshooters.
Select Recording Audio → Run the troubleshooter.
    Follow on-screen instructions.
