Planner integration of custom environments
Hi all,
We have Planner deployed in a custom environment (using the Microsoft Project Accelerator) and until recently, we couldn't see these plans or tasks in the Microsoft Planner app. I just noticed today that I have now access to these plans in the tab "My plans", but I cannot see the tasks in "My tasks". I tried to find some documentation or announcement about this, but I couldn't find anything. I would like to know if and when the tasks from these plans will be visible in my task list.
Anyone knows more about this?
Thanks!
Sofie

Hi Sofie, Plans from custom environments was mentioned in the Blog post What’s new in Microsoft Planner – April 2025 | Microsoft Community Hub and I also asked about the tasks in the comments to that post - coming at some point was the response.
Best regards, Brian

BrianSmithPhotos Hi Brian, thanks for your reply! I saw the blog post, but I missed the question and the following replies. We really need the full integration of the tasks :)

it is annoying as the project teams have traverse across 2 platforms for tasks - i did get one of our coders to have a quick look, they believe there are connectors between to two applications - technically you can send data over to Planner and back into Accelerator/Project for the Web , we just done have resources to look into it.

Hi OliverSES , I have tried to use power Automate to create / modify tasks in the accelerator, but I didn't succeed. If any time later you should find the resources to look into it, I am very interested :)

Hi Oliver,
Thanks for your reply! I didn't think about the option to add a Task grid inside of the accelerator, we can do the same while we wait for the full integration into Planner. Good to know we are not the only ones waiting for this.

Sofie, we deployed Project accelerator last year, one of the key functions was tasks would be available in Planner, unfortunately Microsoft pulled that feature.
Our MSP advised us it was coming; however, we have not seen any updates from Microsoft.
As an interim, our MSP created a Task option inside accelerator, it's not ideal as the teams have to switch between planner and Accelerator.
