Unable to Access Lab environment During My DP-300 Examination
Hi everyone,
I want to find out who is responsible for this issue—Microsoft or Pearson VUE (the testing center).
During my DP-300 exam, I couldn't access the lab environment. I kept receiving an authentication error when trying to sign in using the Console Authenticator. I carefully followed the instructions and scanned the QR code displayed on the screen, but it didn't work.
I then tried the second authentication option by entering the code manually, but I still received the same error.
I've submitted a complaint, but both Microsoft and Pearson VUE are shifting the blame to each other. I studied really hard for this exam, and to make matters worse, this is the second time I've experienced the exact same issue.
The first time it happened, Microsoft acknowledged the issue and provided me with an exam voucher. I'm now trying to understand who is actually liable for this recurring problem and what my next steps should be.
Has anyone else experienced something similar or have any advice?

Did you try to setup Authenticator or third-party authenticator app? Because there is a big difference and the instructions point it out. Exam duration and exam experience | Microsoft Learn
- If you tried to set up Authenticator and it didn't work, that is by design and you didn't follow the instructions.
- If you tried setting up third party authenticator app and it didn't work, then you have a valid case.
From my experience, it is the former because people haven't followed the instructions accurately.

Hi Michael thank you for responding,
(No QR code found on screen) This is exactly the error I received, even tried to increased the zoom settings.
I was at a testing centre the lady came and saw what was going on, and and was willing to submit the Pearson case and gave me the case no.
Hi, sorry you had to deal with that during an exam. I’d keep the Pearson VUE case open, but also submit a case with Microsoft Certification Support. Include your exam date, appointment ID, screenshots or exact error text, and the Pearson case number. Since the lab access issue affected the exam itself, they should be able to review whether a retake or escalation is appropriate.

Hi Jamony, thank you for the taking the time to comment
I've submitted a case and Microsoft has escalated the case with Pearson they currently busy reviewing.
