@Karl-WE
Why would you ever want MS managing drivers and firmware for non-MS products? This goes against every strategy for maintaining a stable and consistent environment. Outside of updates that address security and bug fixes, but dont apply the kitchen sink method. I know vendors dont like to support you when your not at the latest and greatest, but throwing all available updates and hope the problem goes away is not a viable strategy for thousands of endpoints. Maybe MS should make them available, but theyve not had a good track record of keeping current. Sorry, but all this cloud first and latest version crap (XaaS) just leads to unstable and inconsistent environments without control (i.e. Crowdstrike, et alia). Vendors never actually have to finish a product before release and the businesses/users are paying the price.
As for WSUS, my only real complaint was the inconsistent product categories when it came to Windows versions.
