Microsoftmisiraj I am confused about the order of events that cause the SSMS startup error.
First, did you go through the steps I recommended above, with uninstalling SSMS 20, rebooting your machine, and then verifying that SSMS 18 and SSMS 19 still started up fine? Then rebooting and installing SSMS 20 again.
If so, then can you please document, in detail the steps to recreate the issue. You initially stated that the problem on startup occurred with SSMS 20. But in the most recent post, you've stated that it happens when you open SSMS 19 after opening SSMS 20. Forgive me if I am not clear on for what version of SSMS the problem occurs, and what steps you take to create the problem. IF you can list them, from start to finish, that would be most helpful.
If you are still having the problem, then please select the Windows key and then type Run. Type %temp% and select Enter. This will open a folder with a LOT of folders in it. Find the folder named SsmsSetup. Zip up the ENTIRE contents of that folder and email it to me. My email is firstnamelastname at microsoft.com.
With regard to the drop down alignment, what is the screen resolution for the machine, and are you using a 4K monitor. Further, are you using multiple monitors? If so, how many, and are they all 4K (or not, or just some) and what are their resolutions? Thank you.
