This week, while teaching a SharePoint beginner class, several participants asked why notification emails triggered by file changes don't contain a direct link to the document that was modified.
Since these notifications are sent as Microsoft Lists emails, the experience feels incomplete. I pointed them to the feedback portal Bessere E-Mails durch Regeln in Bibliotheken (GERMAN) and encouraged them to vote for improvements.
BertJansen , Nate Tennant, could you help push for a simple but impactful enhancement: including a direct link to the affected document in the notification email? For many users, especially beginners, this would make a huge difference.
Looking ahead, it would also be great to see document preview thumbnails, richer context, and other usability improvements included in these notifications.
Thank you for listening to customer feedback and continuing to improve SharePoint and Microsoft Lists.
