We're encountering several issues with the new rules, many of which have already been mentioned in the comments.
Date-based rules can only be triggered a maximum of 30-days in advance. We have alerts configured as far as 180-days in advance.
Rules for list item modifications don't include what modifications were made, whereas Alert messages identified which fields had updated values in the message body.
Rules don't allow for daily/weekly digests.
Separate Rules are required for what was a single "Any Modification" alert.
PowerAutomate connections periodically disconnect and require the user to manually reconnect them.
When creating a "Set a Reminder" Flow using a date field in a list, the resultant flow includes a step that automatically fails the flow. This causes confusion for users who don't inspect the flow after generating it.
The default PowerAutomate flow uses a notification task that does not allow additional recipients to be added. Users need to manually replace this with another email notification option if additional recipients are needed.
The proposed alternatives aren't suitable for replacing alerts except in the most basic configurations. What was previously a feature users could configure and manage themselves has become much more complex and requires IT support (if their preferred implementation can be accomplished at all in the new framework).
