Introducing SharePoint News and Viva Engage cross-posting
That's an interesting scenario, Irfan02. When you cross-post a SharePoint news post to Engage, the Engage conversation module is added to the news post even if SharePoint comments are disabled, and it keeps reactions and comments synchronized across both platforms. The news post itself appears in Engage in full fidelity. In your scenario, it may be good to avoid the Conversation web part on SharePoint to prevent user confusion.
Favorites work independently across the two platforms: favoriting an item in SharePoint saves it in SharePoint and bookmarking it in Engage saves it in Engage.
Thank you so much for the updates. We are using "Topics" to Connect SPO News with Posts in Viva Engage, most of the time we used topics based on dates (So "Date based Topics" is the "Unique Identifier" connected to both SPO News & VE Post), so by this feature we can avoid using Conversation webpart and just want to hit the "Promote" Button to respective VE Group is Awesome feature for us so by applying will feature will lower the use of "Conversation Webpart" in Content/News Promotions! We are facing some performance issue with conversation webpart for Some SPO Site pages, so here we have à solution instead. But, I have two questions.
1. If we tried to Promote the same News to Multiple Viva Engage Group, then how the conversation sync happen? whether all the comments gets integrated and shows as a single tree/branch under SPO News? how it's logics works?
2. What is the unique identifier connecting with SPO News and Conversation in Viva Engage, it should be the "SPO News Title" Right?
