Dear Microsoft Team,
We greatly appreciate the continuous improvements you bring to SharePoint Online, and we were excited to hear about the new feature that allows news to be sent via email. However, we have some concerns regarding the way this feature was implemented. Our organization has invested significant effort in building a self-service intranet, empowering our content publishers with tools that align with our communication strategy. Unfortunately, the automatic activation of this email feature—without enough notice—has created unexpected challenges. We are now left to manage the impact and quickly communicate this change to our publishers, which was not anticipated.
While we see the potential value in this feature, it’s critical that such tools be opt-in rather than automatic. We believe this would better align with the needs of organizations that manage complex intranets.
We’d appreciate insight into the decision-making behind this rollout and guidance on how we can best manage the situation moving forward. As always, we’re committed to making the most of the tools you provide but hope for better coordination on future updates that impact core functions of our intranet.
Thank you for your attention and consideration to rollback this implementation.
